Winter Roofing with Unicrete’s Concrete Tile

 

Don’t let the onset of winter deter you from proceeding with your roofing project. Roofing contractors have been successfully installing concrete tile roofs all year round for decades. Unicrete has completed thousands of projects during the winter months since 1978.

We support the installation of Unicrete’s Concrete Roof Tile during the winter months when installed by an experienced contractor. Since the installation process is uniquely different from conventional roofing systems the product is not affected when installed in the winter.  

The installation of concrete tile begins with the application of a CSA approved underlayment. The underlayment can be installed in any temperature range and has a slip resistant surface enabling the roofing contractor to safely work the roof. This underlayment installs quickly and protects your home from moisture and serves as a temporary roofing system until the tile is installed. The next step is to install a “ladder system” or strapping system that the product is hung on and any tiles that require fastening will be mechanically fastened to. The tile is then installed onto the strapping system and this can be done at any temperature.
